Encore Academy of the Arts offers group instruction for Musical Theater from beginning to advanced levels. Encore’s Musical Theater Company will meet weekly to focus on Musical Theater Vocal Techniques, Acting Techniques, Dance Techniques, and Movement Techniques, while rehearsing for their upcoming Musical. The Musical Theater Company will rehearse under working professionals to put on one Musical per season (shows will typically be at the end of the school year). Casting for the Musical will be audition based once all students are enrolled in the Musical Theater Company.
Students will specifically learn about audition etiquette, audition preparation, monologue choosing, rehearsal etiquette, musicianship, actor behavior, production, and performance. The Musical Theater Company builds leadership, ensemble work, and individualism while strengthening performance technique in acting, singing, and dancing. The Musical Theater Company will work in tandem with the students’ private lessons to further build a foundation of work ethic and technique.
The musical will be cast by a Director, Music Director, and Choreographer once the entire company is enrolled and classes have begun. We produce mini musicals and junior versions of famous musical productions. Usually, the first two to three weeks of class will be entirely instruction based. As the show nears, rehearsals will become more prominent during the week going from one to three days. The musical will then premiere at the end of the season! Consider becoming a part of our Encore family, we would love to have you!
