COVID-19 Information

Our top priority at Encore’s Summer Camp is the health and safety or our students and faculty. We are only admitting a maximum of 25 to 30 students this summer. Space is limited! We will continue all protocols used up to this point. Everyone in the school will be required to wear a mask (except during lunch and snack). Only approved masks will be acceptable (N-95, SN-94, cotton 3-ply or disposable) Class sizes will be reduced and there will be different lunch times to assure proper social distancing. We will be using a health screening application as well as a system of pick up and drop off to avoid large crowds inside the school. More information regarding measures to ensure camp safety will be released closer to the start of camp.

Summer Camp at Encore!

Every year at the end of the school year, Encore opens its doors for 10 weeks with an exciting music, dance, and visual arts summer camp welcoming children ages 4 to 13 years old. Kids are divided into groups based on their age, not their music or dance proficiency. We teach all groups the same classes tailored to their specific age group and all of our classes are taught by our professional teachers, the same ones who teach at our school during the school year.

From Monday through Thursday, our focus is on music appreciation lessons, acting, dancing and art classes! While the girls take flamenco/Spanish dance, modern and Cuban dance classes, the boys have ensemble, an energy-filled class where they explore the drums, piano, bass and electric guitar.

As if they don’t have enough fun during the week, Fridays we go on field trips! We have taken the kids to the movies at their request but we try to focus on cultural activities that complement what we are teaching them during the summer camp. We have gone on backstage tours of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. We have taken the kids to see theater performances at the Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables. We have also gone on field trips to the Pérez Art Museum!

All this preparation and learning comes together at our End of Summer Camp Show. By the time the show comes along, the kids will have learned tremendously but most importantly, they will have developed an interest for music, dance and art. They will have created new friends and new interests that they can keep forever!

Kids have so much fun in our summer camp that I have never seen one willing to go when his/her parents come to pick them up. It truly makes us all at Encore happy to see how involved and excited the kids get in our summer camp program!
