Maria Mercedes Peres, was born in Cuba. From very young age she had a great affinity for flamenco and started dancing at 3 years old. At 12 years old, she had her first trip to Colombia interpreting the work of Carmen.
Mrs. Peres has been a member of the best flamenco companies in Cuba including: Spanish Ballet of Cuba, ECOS, Flamenco Havana, among others. She has also worked with great artists such as Truco, and La Farruca, and has taken courses with Rocío Molina, Eva Yerbabuena, Maria Juncal, etc.
As a flamenco dancer, Maria Mercedes, has toured Japan, China, Australia, Mexico, England, Canada, and United Stated. She now resides in Miami as a respected instructor and artist, appearing in many flamenco functions as a guest artist. “Everyday I give my body and soul to this wonderful art that is flamenco. That’s a great joy!”, says Maria Mercedes.
