Darcy Hernandez

Darcy Hernandez-Gil is a critically-acclaimed Actress, Singer, Producer, Director, Vocal Coach, and Teaching Artist. She is a proud graduate of New World School of the Arts, a board member of the NWSA Alumni Foundation, and a 2014 YoungArts National Winner in Musical Theatre.

When she is not performing, she is nurturing the next generation of artists through the classes she teaches and the shows she directs. As a teaching artist, Darcy has worked with hundreds of young actors throughout Miami-Dade. She has been a guest teacher at South Miami Middle Community School, and Doral Academy as the troupe vocal coach, and ran the after school drama program at South Pointe Elementary, Fischer Island Day School, and St. Hugh.

Over the last 7 years, she has directed over 40 productions, and has prepared countless students to get in to their elementary, middle, high schools and colleges of choice, such as South Miami Middle, Miami Arts Studio, Miami Arts Charter, New World School of the Arts, Coral Reef, AMDA, Boston Conservatory, etc.

She dedicates her work to uplifting her community through her nonprofit, Carbonell Award eligible professional theatre company, True Mirage Theater, which she founded with her husband Daniel. Out of that, Mini Mirage Theater was also born.

As a performer, Darcy has worked at many theaters throughout South Florida, including Marquee Theater Company (Aida – Amneris), Actor’s Playhouse (Miss Nelson is Missing – Miss Nelson/Viola Swamp), Island City Stage (Zanna, Don’t! – Roberta), The Wick (Annie – Star-to-Be), and Theatre Lab (Cuban Courage – Maria) to name a few.

Darcy is so grateful to be working with Debora and the Encore family, and she thanks God that their connection was made through the NWSA Alumni Foundation when she was in need of a space and Debora so graciously opened her doors…and so began a beautiful friendship and collaboration.
